The Rhode Island School Psychologists Association (RISPA) promotes a Culture of Wellness in Rhode Island and recognizes the significance of collaborative partnerships across school-employed mental health professionals and community mental health professionals in ensuring positive outcomes and overall wellness for the students and families of Rhode Island.
Please join us on Tuesday November 12, 2019 from 8:00am-4:00pm at Rhode Island College, Alger Hall Room #110 for an energizing and insightful event where you will:
*Hear presentations from Minding Your Mind, a community-based organization, and the 2018 RI School Psychologist of the Year on how they built a school- community partnership to implement a successful school-wide intervention promoting mental health awareness and support.
*Hear from local Mental Health experts from Bradley Hospital to enhance your understanding of specific mental illnesses and research-based treatment approaches, including a deeper dive into exposure therapy. Additionally, learn about opportunities on how to utilize these resources to effectively meet the needs of our students and families.
*Build your network and resources with other local mental health advocates throughout the day at table exhibits (a full list of organizations and resources coming soon!)
*Advocate for RI School Psychologists and other RI Mental Health Professionals if you choose to participate in the working lunch and send letters to legislators prepared by the NASP Advocacy Action Day
*Learn about and take resources back to your schools and/or community to promote School Psychologist Awareness Week (SPAW)- 11/12/19-11/15/19
*A light breakfast, snack and lunch is included in your registration
