    Presentations

✦ Restorative Practices,“What’s It All About?” by Ellen Reinhardt, M.A.,CAGS

As schools and districts across the US seek alternatives to suspension, interest in Restorative Practices (RP) has grown. While often seen strictly as a reactive approach to “repair harm” in instances of serious behavior, Restorative Practices are in fact broader, encompassing both proactive and responsive elements. This session will share the foundations of Restorative Practices, explore the continuum of restorative supports and examine the issues and implications of implementing it in schools, particularly schools with established PBIS frameworks.

✦ Youth Pride, “Providing Positive Clinical Interactions and Social Support for Gender Diverse Students” by Michele D. Paliotta, LICSW

An overview of current and pertinent LGBTQQ issues being experienced in public schools will be presented. We will utilize real case examples to enrich the discussion. There will be ample time to dialogue about this pertinent and essential need for supporting LGBTQQ students.
